We are a French couple and we would like to go on holiday in Sweden during summer 2011. We are looking for 4 holiday houses or apartments in the following regions :
- 1 in Halland, between Halmstad and Varberg, not far from the motorway
- 1 close to to norwegian border, in the surroundings of Stromstad
- 1 in the surroundings of Stockholm
- 1 in the south of Skane, between Malmö and Ystad.
We don't smoke, but we have a cat. If you know a holiday house or apartment in these regions, I would be glad if you could indicate it to me.

and most of the pople having homes for rent here also listed their house on http://www.ferienhausmiete.de (available in frensh aswell, but mostly machine translations so maybe check out english descriptions aswell)
http://stugbasen.com is another swedish site with more swedish people renting their houses (more exclusive to swedish people only though.

my house is near karlsborg, near tividen national park, but thats to far off your route i suppose:-)

If the cat is clean (and i suppose she is), it might be a good idea to mention this to houseowners. A lot of people are unnecessarily hostile towards pets in their holiday homes (you know why;-)). I wouldn't mind a cat in my house (except it's male and not sterilized thats's a big no.) but even i would request further information from the people (private internetsite, pictures...).

How did you convince your cat of travelling with you? I always had cats aswell and one thing they all hated was travveling and permanent change of environment. i can haz?;-)

Thank you for your first answers.
To answer to your question about our cat, it is 5 years old, and it is a sterilized female. Our cat (which name is Praline) is very used to being on holiday. The first time it went into the car, it was 4 months old, and we went from France to Budapest ! Praline already knows Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany (last year), Croatia, Austria...
As Praline is very used to staying in a holiday house or apartment, it has never been any problem. Our cat is very clean and calm...
And we would like to bring it with us to Sweden !

Besides the usual reserve of the cottage owners towards animals, you might have to think about necessary paperwork coming along with taking praline to sweden, even it is only for holidays.
But as your cat has seen almost the half of europe I assume you are aware of and familiar to this stuff.

Do you want to take a ferry to sweden or do you plan to use the Öresund-Bridge near Malmö?
On a vast number of ferries there are a lot of regulations regarding the transport of animals...even as they are mostly made in respect to dogs it might be something to concern about as this stuff could really be a pain in the ass...



...I hope praline is a non-smoker also?
